Auf den Spuren von Agatha Christie Seit meiner Kindheit bin ich gnadenloser Fan von Dame Margaret Rutherford alias Miss Marple. Ich liebe ihre schwarz/weiß Filme noch heute. Später kam das Interesse an den 20er Jahren, der Weimarer Republik hinzu. 2015 reiste ich auf der SS Sudan den Nil entlang, dem Schiff, auf dem Agatha Christie die Idee zum Buch „Tod auf dem Nil“ hatte und das 2004 im gleichnamigen Film zu sehen ist. Mein Favorit ist und bleibt aber „Tod auf dem Nil“ mit Sir Peter Ustinov. Ich übernachtete im ‚Winter Palace Hotel‘ in Luxor und dem ‚Old Cataract Hotel‘ in Assuan, in Istanbul durfte ich 2008 einen Blick in das damals noch nicht renovierte ‚Pera Palace Hotel‘ werfen – es war wie eine Zeitreise. Später kamen noch ein Dinner in Kairo im ‚Mena House Oberoi‘, wo mir von einem netten Concierge das Zimmer von Agatha Christie gezeigt wurde und ein Mittagessen am Euphrat in ‚Mesopotamien‘ hinzu. Was mir noch fehlt? Der Orient-Express! Die Idee, dass ich einen Krimi schreiben wollte, der eine kleine Portion Fetisch als Würze hat, hatte ich schon sehr viele Jahre – und manchmal dauert es etwas, damit am Ende endlich alles gut wird. Und nein, ich vergleiche mich nicht mit Agatha Christie, das wäre vermessen! About me on the path of Agatha Christie: In my child time I was – and I am still – a big Dame Rutherford fan aka Miss Marple. Don‘t know how often I watched her movies. Later I came across „Death on Nile“ with Sir Peter Ustinov, my favorite movie forever and boarded self 2015 at the SS Sudan former steam ship where Agatha Christie traveled with her husband and got the idea of the book. This ship was used also in the same named movie from 2004. The ‘Old Cataract Hotel’ and the ‘Winter Palace Hotel’ where my accommodation and I felt really back in the 20’s and 30’s of the last century. I also had the possibility to have a clandestine look into the then not renovated ‘Pera Palace Hotel’ in Istanbul at 2008. Same as I stayed for Dinner at the ‘Mena House Oberoi’ in Cairo where a very nice Concierge showed us the room where Agatha stayed. I’ll not miss to tell I was having a lunch at the river Euphrates in “Mesopotamia”. What I’m missing? The Orient Express! Whodunit? It took a while to let the idea of a crime story book with a glimpse of bdsm and fetish become reality but now it’s done and it’s out now: „Murder in bizarre Circles“ Of course I‘m willing to offer the book in English too but it‘s not that easy then it maybe looks. Good translators cost really a LOT (about 30 EUR per page plus taxes) and they mostly booked out for month. If I find a good service I’ll do crowd funding. So I hope you’ll stay tuned!
